The “Tawasul” list, headed by Eng. Said Al-Saqlawi, won the chairmanship of the Board of Directors of the Omani Writers and Authors Association, securing 111 votes from a total of 205 eligible voters, of whom 178 participated in the elections held this evening at the association’s headquarters. The “Tawasul” list competed against the “Tajdeed” list, which included Dr. Hamad Al-Ghailani, Sheikh Hamoud Al-Ghailani, Saif Al-Maskari, Dr. Hussein Al-Mashhour Ba-Amer, Dr. Umama Al-Lawati, Dr. Omar Al-Saari, Rehab Al-Saadi, Younis Al-Busaidi, Alaa Al-Din Al-Dughishi, Mohamed Al-Maamari, Mohamed Al-Kindi, and Mariam Al-Zaidiyah, which received 94 votes. One ballot was disqualified as it endorsed both lists, following the vote count supervised by a neutral committee chaired by lawyer Dr. Ahmed Al-Jahouri. The winning list includes Eng. Said bin Mohamed Al-Saqlawi, Khamis bin Rashid Al-Adawi, Dr. Nasser bin Said Al-Atiqi, Dr. Said bin Bakhit Bait Mubarak, Dr. Amer bin Mohamed Al-Eisri, Ishaq bin Mahfouz Al-Khanjari, Fayza bint Mohamed Al-Balushi, Khalid bin Ali Al-Alawi, Ahmed bin Marhoon Al-Busaidi, Fawz bint Abdullah Al-Harthiya, Ghania bint Ali Al-Shabibiya, and Muteb bin Ma’touq Al-Shukri. Prior to the elections, the general assembly met after confirming the quorum with 178 members present out of 294. During the meeting, Amer Al-Eisri, the association’s secretary, presented the administrative report, highlighting the association’s achievements, expansion into various governorates, publications across diverse fields of knowledge, and various awards, as well as major activities, events, and collaborations over the past two years. Fayza Al-Balushi, the fund secretary, presented the financial report, detailing revenues and expenditures and noting a financial surplus.
